Hidden Spy Cameras and Natalee Holloway
In the last three years very few stories have received the attention of the eighteen year old Natalee Holloway who disappeared on the tiny island of Aruba. She was on a trip with 100 high school classmates from Birmingham Alabama and was never to return.

The story is so bizarre from the way the police in Aruba (mis)handled it to the cozy relationship between the prosecutors' office and the #1 suspect's father who was a lawyer and judge-in-training.

Joran van der Sloot and two of his buddies, the Kalpoe brothers, were the last to see Natalee alive so naturally they were always the prime suspects. Their stories changed from day to day at the start and were full of inconsistencies.

Police arrested them, questioned them at length, and then released them. They repeated this process at least three times over the years. Each time they were released sane people wondered what was going on in this island nation. The police consistently showed their incompetence or duplicity in the investigation of the crime. It was botched from the start.

Then on 16 January 2008, an Aruban businessman Patrick van der Eem who had been befriending van der Sloot over a period of weeks managed to get him into his Range Rover. The Range Rover was equipped with hidden cameras that got video and audio of van der Sloot making what many say is a confession.

The way things go in Aruba who knows what will happen. Two points; one a civilian was able to get in 15 minutes what authorities couldn't get in three years: two the value of hidden cameras to get the most telling stories-a picture is worth a thousand words.
